1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Tale, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and have read and agreed to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. Description of Service

Tale enables users to watch video content in synchronised sessions with friends via real-time voice chat and playback control. The Service includes the Tale desktop application, web interface, and room management infrastructure.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Stream, share, or distribute content you do not have the right to use
• Violate any applicable copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property law
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or another user's room
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Distribute malware or engage in any activity that disrupts the Service

5. Content & Copyright

Tale does not host or distribute video content. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to stream or share any media within a Tale room. We respect intellectual property rights and will respond to valid copyright notices in accordance with applicable law.

6. Room Privacy

Rooms are protected by cryptographically random invite links. You are responsible for controlling who you share room links with. Tale does not record voice chat or monitor the content of your sessions.

7. Intellectual Property

The Tale platform, branding, and software are the intellectual property of Tale. You retain full ownership of any content you stream through the Service. You grant us no rights to your media content.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, sync accuracy across all network conditions, or compatibility with all video formats or sources.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tale shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including disrupted watch sessions or data loss. Our total liability shall not exceed any amounts paid by you to us in the preceding 3 months.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your account data will be deleted within 30 days.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically and will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
